Because in this article I will tell you how to reset the garage door opener.

How to reset the Garage door Opener?

Here are the four steps by which you can reset your garage door opener:

1-Erase old codes on the opener

The first step is to erase the old codes on the opener. To do this locate the learn button on the opener. In this way, you can easily delete your previous programming. The button will be on the back side of the motor located away from the garage door. It also depends upon the opener model. In some models, it may have an LED light next to it. You will need a step tool to reach the learn button.

After completing the first step, the second step is reprogramming your remote control at least once. Before pairing up the opener with the vehicles, you will need a handheld remote control and it will be programmed with the new settings of your opener.

3-Programming of Vehicles

Follow the below steps:

  1. Press and hold the two outside home links buttons of the remote.
  2. So now hold the end of the hand-held remote control, that you wish to train approximately.
  3. Simultaneously press and hold the handheld button. Also the designated button in the HomeLink.
  4. But after that press the learn button for the opener. Just for one second and after that release it.
  5. Now the final step is that return the vehicle and firmly press the programmed HomeLink button. Do it two times.

4-Resetting the keypad

In this step, you need to reset your keypad. Because after programming and coding you will definitely need to reset your keypad according to your programming and coding. You need to reset the two types of codes:

  • Resetting your personal codes
  • The setting of temporary codes for other persons

So above all the four steps will help you in resetting the garage door opener. The reprogramming and the coding are not generally difficult tasks. So, you don’t need to be afraid.  I want to give you one tip! If you are going to hire a person for this purpose then try to find out the correct person who really has knowledge.
